Flexible Provision
Overview
Flexible Provision is a pilot programme with the aim of testing the impact and added value of introducing part-subsidised, flexible training for adults in employment.
The learner must complete whole qualifications e.g. NVQ, Key Skills and/or Technical Certificate from a recognised framework.
A learner may undertake one or more qualifications from a framework relevant and appropriate to employer need ("part framework"). Whichever qualification(s) are chosen from the framework, learners are given the option throughout the period of learning to complete the full framework programme if desired.
Employers are expected to contribute 50% of the total cost with the remaining 50% funded by the Department for Children, Education Lifelong Learning and Skills (DCELLS).
This pilot programme is available to employed individuals aged 19 plus who commence their training programme after August 2007. Qualifications must be completed and certificated by July 2009.
