Here at Educ8 we’ve got raising money for gr8 charities down to a tee with our first Charity Golf Day raising in excess of £2, 000 for our 2 amazing charities- Velindre Cancer Centre and the Down’s Syndrome Association.
The event was held on Friday 23rd April at Bryn Meadows Golf Club and the sun shone down on what turned out to be a hugely enjoyable and productive day for everyone involved. The day attracted a wonderful 28 teams of 4 people, made up of local companies from the valleys and beyond and participants were encouraged to work together by playing to a Texas Scramble format. It seemed the sunshine injected a special something to the day with all teams performing excellently. However, there was a clear winner and the team from Nordam Europe Ltd walked away with the Charity Shield which they can keep in pride of place until next year’s event.
A nail-biting auction followed the 18 holes where lots including a signed Ryan Giggs Manchester United shirt, signed Cardiff Blues and Cardiff City shirts, a trip to see Mama Mia and a meal at Le Brasserie restaurant, premier football and rugby tickets and a Jonathan Davies signed Wales shirt contributed to the day’s fundraising.
On behalf of Velindre Cancer Centre and the Down’s Syndrome Association, Educ8 would like to thank everybody that made the day such a fantastic success, we can’t wait for next year!
