Educ8 Re-Launch 29-02-2008
Educ8 launched its new commercial initiative at Bryn Meadows Golf and Country Hotel in Caerphilly on Friday February 29 2008. Guest speakers at the launch included Caerphilly AM Jeff Cuthbert who has a special interest in vocational training, also in attendance was Debra Williams, Managing Director of Confused .com and winner of the Women in Innovation category in the Welsh Women of the Year awards, 2006.
Operations Director Grant Santos said: “the care sector from which Educ8 has grown requires a high degree of training to ensure standards are rigorously maintained. We have found a growing demand for our services from organisations in the public, voluntary and private sectors.”
“In addition our expertise in delivering a wide variety of training courses has enabled us to identify gaps in the marketplace and expand our range of courses Educ8 offers.”
Debra Williams, Managing Director of confused.com said: “Training is often seen as a cost to a business, it is not, it is an investment. The opportunities for training must be met with an appetite to learn, develop and progress. One of my personal motivational philosophies is captured in the following phrase; ‘the more I learn, the more I realise how much I don’t know.’"
Jeff Cuthbert AM said: “I’m delighted to support the further development of work-based learning. As the Assembly’s 14-19 Learning Pathways rolls out across Wales, we will need high quality providers to work with schools and colleges.”
“Also those at work need regular opportunities to improve their skill level and learn new skills. This is as true for the care sector as it is for any other sector. I wish Educ8 well and look forward to seeing more of their work.”
Over 100 people attended the relaunch event on 29th February. The event finale was delivered by Year 10 pupils from St Martins Comprehensive School, who showcased the work they have completed with Educ8. Working in partnership with Education Business Partnership, Educ8 has recently worked with the school providing pupils with an insight into the care sector.
