Celebrating Support During These Difficult Times
The Educ8 Group, incorporating ISA Training deliver Apprenticeship programmes within the workplace to a variety of sectors, including Childcare and Nursery settings.
Educ8 has worked closely with Caerleon Childcare for a number of years supporting the nursery by providing the required Childcare qualifications to their staff.
The organisation has branches both in Cardiff and Bristol and provide childcare covering an age range from babies to 3 years old and above. In 2017, one of their employees Zara King, won the World Skills Competition for Wales whilst undertaking her Level 2 apprenticeship with Educ8. Following her success at World Skills, Zara continued her apprenticeship journey with Educ8 by completing the Level 3 Childcare apprenticeship and is now currently undertaking the Level 5 Advanced Practice qualification.
During the current climate and throughout the COVID-19 lockdown, our learners have been able to continue their learning without any disruption to their qualification, which has been made possible due to Educ8’s investment in technology. We use various digital platforms such as Smart Assessor and Moodle and hold regular Zoom/Teams video meetings between learners and their designated Trainer Coach who provide ongoing support throughout their qualification. Our investment in technology has encouraged two staff members at Caerleon Childcare to continue to progress with their learning, enabling them to complete their apprenticeship.
Rebecca Strange, Trainer Coach at Educ8 Group explained: “I had two learners that work at Caerleon Childcare in Cardiff. With COVID 19 this was a huge worry as they were furloughed and due to finish the qualification in April/May.
I was in contact with both learners at home and explained we were able to work remotely and planned to complete knowledge evidence. We communicated through email, telephone and text messages. I was able to put an action plan in place for the remaining criteria that was needed to be covered and worked closely with the Manager and Duty Manager to provide Witness Testimonies. I have built a good relationship with the setting and together we worked in partnership. By supporting each other both learners were able to complete and sign off before their allocated target date”.
The Educ8 Group incorporating ISA Training, offer Apprenticeship programmes across South Wales to organisations of all types and sizes in the following subject areas:
