Educ8 Celebrate 16 Years in Business
Educ8 is proud to celebrate its 16th year in business, helping people to develop their skills, achieve valuable qualifications and tackle new challenges head on. The aim has always been to provide access to education and training to improve the skills of people and businesses in local communities across South Wales.
The Educ8 Group was founded by Chairman, Colin Tucker in 2004 after selling his care home business to focus on creating a high quality training company that contributed to the local economy and provided quality jobs where staff could progress and achieve real career progression. Colin has worked to create an organisational culture that attracts and retains the best staff and today Educ8 Group employs 165 staff members who operate both in Wales andEngland.
Grant Santos joined as Managing Director in 2007, sharing Colin’s vision of developing a training organisation that not only contributes to the local economy but is also a great place to work. Grant became a shareholder in 2013 and CEO of the Educ8 Group in 2017. Grant has worked in the training and education sector for over 20 years and has developed a comprehensive understanding of the work based learning environment, education and skills agenda whilst growing a successful business.
Over the 16 years, Educ8 has been proud of its achievements including ‘Top 100’ status for 6 consecutive years in the Sunday Times Top 100 Best Small Companies to Work For in the UK as well as been crowned Best Employer in Wales by the Federation of Small Business in 2019. These accolades were complimented by the announcement in 2019 that the business had been awarded Investors in People Platinum status – one of only a handful of organisations in Wales to achieve such an honour.
Educ8 Group has experienced significant growth, from initial humble beginnings through to acquiring Qualtech in 2009, Network Training Services in 2015 and more recently ISA Training in 2018 and in 2020 taking possession of a new modern Head Office space in Ystrad Mynach.
In 2019, former Wales and British Lions rugby star, Martyn Williams, joined the company as a Vocational Skills Ambassador, helping to promote the benefits and opportunities that are offered to individuals and employers of engaging with Apprenticeship programs.
The business has established a group structure which reflects its growth and ambitions and incorporates all shared services at the group level, supporting four separate businesses which deliver Apprenticeships and Vocational Qualifications across a multitude of sectors.
