What happens at Gradu8?

Gradu8 is a celebration for learners and their friends, families and employers, to recognise their efforts in completing their apprenticeship course with Educ8 Group. Anyone who has previously attended a graduation event at a college or university will be familiar with the format.

The next Gradu8 event will take place on 27th September 2019.


The next Gradu8 ceremony will be held at our Educ8 Headquarters (Tredomen Gateway, Ystrad Mynach, CF82 7EH)

When should I arrive?

For our morning ceremony you should aim to arrive at 9.00am for 9.30am start. For our afternoon ceremony you should aim to arrive at 12.30pm for 1.00pm start.

How long will the ceremony last?

Each ceremony will run for approximately an hour and a half.

Can I bring friends/family/colleagues?

Each invited graduate is welcome to bring up to two guests to join with them in the celebration. Many learners choose to arrive with one family member and one person from their employer.

Who is invited? (don’t pass invitations on!)

Invitations are extended only to those who have concluded their qualification within the set dates for each Gradu8 event, and their guests. If you’ve received an invitation from Educ8, please do not pass it on to anyone else.

Who will hand me my certificate?

Speakers and certificate presenters for each event are usually agreed at fairly short notice before the ceremony is due. However we aim to ensure a well-known person on hand will be around to hand out certificates, pose for photos and / deliver an inspiring talk during the celebration.

Will I get my real certificate on the day?

Yes if these have not previously been posted to you, you will receive all certificates we hold on file. However, if you are unable to attend our ceremony your certificates will be posted to you.

Will there be a photographer?

Yes, we’ll have a professional photographer on site, taking shots of the ceremony and individual portrait shots of all graduates, which will be available to purchase directly from the photographer at £5 per print. Visitors will need to be aware that they may appear in photographs used in promotional activities by Educ8. If that is an issue, please raise it with the photographer on the day.

How do I obtain official photographs?

The photographer will supply desired photos, please speak to him/her on the day for more information.

Can I take my own photos?

You’re most welcome to take your own photos but we’d ask that all guests remain seated during the handing out of certificates part of the ceremony.

Disabled access

Our ceremony will be taking place on the 2nd floor of the building. However, there is disabled access via a lift.

Where can I obtain the relevant robe and cap?

Ede & Ravenscroft – information will be included on the official invite and the deadline date to order is 29/08/19.

Is there car parking at the venue?

Yes there is parking on site at the Gateway car park and there is an overflow car park Tredomen Business & Innovation Centre – include map

Will there be refreshments?

There will be refreshments provided, please let us know if you have any dietary requirements.

I am unable to attend, can I instead come to the next Gradu8 ceremony?

Yes – we will add to reserve list for the next ceremony. Although, please let us know that you are unable to attend at your earliest convenience.
