On Monday 27th January 2020, Educ8 hosted Hefin David AM for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at our newly-revamped headquarters in Ystrad Mynach.

Staff and invited guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly while touring the new-look, fully-branded training facilities on the first floor of Tredomen Gateway – taking in a display exhibition that mapped out the path of Educ8’s journey over the last 16 years.

The official opening was preceded by a short speech from Hefin David, Assembly Member for Caerphilly, who cut the green ribbon and commented: “It’s an honour to be invited to speak at a successful local business and this event has a special value for me as I was an educator before becoming the Caerphilly AM. It’s incredible how far Educ8 has come in the past 16 years and the huge impact their team has made on people’s lives through apprenticeships. Supporting recruitment and upskilling in local communities, as well as employing local people, is what Educ8 is all about and that has to be worth celebrating”.

There was a surprise performance from the Ystrad Mynach male voice choir who performed songs such as Calon Lan and Unchained Melody whilst appearing from below the mezzanine level after the ribbon cutting.

Grant Santos, CEO of Educ8 Group stated: “I joined the organisation when it was still very young and I’m so proud of the way it’s managed to keep its core values close to the heart throughout some rapid growth. In the last year or two we’ve acquired the hair and beauty training specialist ISA, ranked as the 6th best small employer in the UK according to The Sunday Times and been nominated for a number of national FE Week AAC awards. “We’re proud of our team, we’re proud of our learners and we’re proud of the local employers that we work so closely with – now we can be proud of our training facilities too. Canapes. Bubbly. Choirs. Colleagues. Guests. The perfect way to celebrate the opening of Educ8's new HQ office space and to raise a glass to 16 years of serving the local community..”
