Elev8 Explore: Bringing engineering skills to life with Educ8 Training

We’re excited to introduce Elev8 Explore, a series of short, hands-on engineering taster sessions delivered by Educ8 Training, designed to help schools bring vocational learning to life.

Elev8 Explore is an exciting addition to our Elev8 Future Skills offer, providing flexible, practical sessions that connect classroom learning with real-world engineering industries. These sessions are designed to build confidence, spark curiosity, and help young people explore future career pathways in a meaningful and engaging way.

Perfectly suited to Year 10 and 11 pupils, Elev8 Explore gives learners the opportunity to experience vocational engineering first-hand before making important post-16 decisions. Sessions are delivered by industry-experienced tutors and fit easily into the school timetable, making them ideal for careers weeks, enrichment activities, or as a pathway taster.

What is Elev8 Explore?

Elev8 Explore offers short, accessible engineering experiences that help pupils:

  • Discover an interest in engineering and STEM careers
  • Develop practical, transferable skills
  • Understand vocational pathways and qualifications
  • Gain insight into real engineering roles and industries

Through hands-on learning, pupils are encouraged to imagine their future and explore alternative routes into education, apprenticeships, and employment within the engineering sector.

What’s Available?

Elev8 Explore includes two flexible delivery options designed around the City & Guilds / EAL engineering framework, making it easy for schools to offer meaningful vocational exposure.

Engineering Skills Taster Days

Duration: 1–2 days
Delivery: In-school workshops
For: Year 10 & 11 pupils

Our Engineering Skills Taster Days are high-energy, hands-on sessions that introduce pupils to the world of engineering through practical activities and problem-solving challenges. These sessions are ideal for careers events, enrichment days, or as a first step into vocational learning.

Pupils will experience:

  • Practical engineering activities, including CAD design skills
  • Safe use of tools, materials, and workshop practices
  • Team-based problem-solving challenges
  • Insight into Level 1 engineering qualifications and career pathways

On completion, pupils receive a Certificate of Participation, recognising their engagement and achievement.

⭐ Engineering Skills Burst Programme

Duration: 4–7 weeks (1 session/ week)
Delivery: In-school workshops
For: Year 10 & 11 pupils

Our Engineering Skills Burst Programme offers a deeper vocational taster experience, allowing pupils to engage with engineering over several weeks. This programme helps learners understand what it’s like to work towards a qualification while building confidence, teamwork, and technical skills.
