What is Elev8?

Elev8 is our 9–16 vocational programme that offer schools and agencies a broad, practical alternative to traditional academic routes, helping young people gain industry-led skills for employment and training.

Our courses include:

Hair & Beauty – ISA Training

  • Industry-relevant and accredited – Aligned to City & Guilds standards.
  • Weekly 5-hour sessions combine theory and practice – from shampooing and styling to skincare, health & safety, and customer care.
  • Learners also develop transferable skills such as communication, literacy, and numeracy.
  • Pathways range from Entry 3 to Level 1, with options for bite-sized unit accreditation. Many progress into Level 2 training, apprenticeships, or employment in the hair and beauty sector.

Digital Tycoons – Aspire 2Be

  • Turn ideas into business reality. Learners develop entrepreneurship, digital skills, teamwork, and project management by creating their own business concept. Activities include branding, website development, and financial planning, with a final showcase presentation.
  • Accredited through Work Related Education or Agored Cymru, this course builds foundations for careers in business, leadership, or creative industries.

Design for Life – Aspire 2Be

  • Explore sustainability, citizenship, and well-being through immersive, Minecraft-based learning. Learners work collaboratively on in-game challenges that promote problem-solving, leadership, and environmental awareness.
  • Flexible 5-day delivery, accredited via Agored Cymru, with pathways into sustainability, social care, and digital roles.

Create Academy – Aspire 2Be

  • Step into the fast-paced world of content creation. Learners plan, film, edit, and present multimedia projects while building communication, creativity, and teamwork skills.
  • Delivered intensively over a week or extended across the term, this course prepares learners for careers in media, communications, and the creative industries.

Engineering – Educ8 Training

  • Introduces core engineering principles through both practical and theoretical learning, accredited to EAL standards.
  • Assessed via multiple-choice tests, written assignments, and practical demonstrations with portfolio evidence.
  • Develops skills in safe use of machinery, CAD design (e.g., creating a personalised model and engineering drawings), mechanical fitting (filing, drilling, measuring), and assembly and maintenance of components.
  • Builds transferable proficiencies such as teamwork, problem-solving, and professional communication.
