Welsh Week at Educ8: Supporting learners with Welsh language resources

This week, to coincide with Diwrnod Shwmae Su’mae Educ8 Training is excited to launch Welsh Week – a chance to celebrate the Welsh language, culture and heritage that shape who we are.

As a proud Welsh company, we want every apprentice to feel supported in their Welsh language journey. That’s why our learner platform, Moodle, includes a wide range of resources designed to build skills and confidence, to include:

  • Prentis-iaith (from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol) – a purpose-built Welsh course available to all our learners through Moodle. It has 4 levels – Awareness, Understanding, Confidence, Fluency.
  • Welsh awareness – exploring why Welsh matters in today’s society and the workplace.
  • Incidental Welsh videos – three short resources to help you learn everyday greetings and days of the week.
  • Comprehensive bilingual resources for HSC and CCLD – while not created by Educ8, these are easily accessible through Moodle and give added support to sector-specific learners.
  • Welsh Calendar of Events – on Moodle’s landing page, you can explore what’s happening across Wales as part of our ‘Welsh Dimension’.

As part of your apprenticeship, you can also expect your Trainer Coach to use incidental Welsh, including bilingual feedback, to help you grow your confidence.

‘At Educ8, we are passionate about the Welsh language, and we’re proud to give our learners the tools they need to develop their Welsh language skills and celebrate our culture. Every step counts – whether you’re learning your first greeting or building fluency.’

We have plenty of exciting things to get involved with this Welsh Week including a fun 30-minute taster session titled Welsh for the Terrified, lots of Welsh activity on our social media channels for Diwrnod Shwmae Su’mae, plus our Online Welsh Café – a friendly space to chat in Welsh, whether you’re fluent, rusty or just starting out!
