Building a biomedical career with our Healthcare Science qualification

Beginning her career as a Medical Laboratory Assistant in2011, Naomi Athwain has over 10 years’ experience working for the NHS in biochemistry and pathology. In her current role as an Associate Practitioner, she is working towards her Level 4 Healthcare Science qualification with Educ8Training.

Fast career-progression

I started this apprenticeship as I wanted the opportunity to progress further within my role. I would like to become a qualified Biomedical Scientist and this qualification will help me proceed onto completing a full degree.

The modules are flexible

Educ8 has supported me by giving me flexibility with my modules by being an independent learner. I have an amazing assessor who I able to get in touch with at any time if I need help or direction with any of my qualification.

Developing my skills

The part of the qualification that I have enjoyed the most so far is the Audit and Research Development module. I have been able to complete Health and Safety audits within my role and get involved in a research project which gained evidence towards this module.

Apprenticeships offer a good work life balance

I would recommend this apprenticeship to anyone who would like to gain a qualification as it is flexible. The support from Educ8 is fantastic and I am able to have a good work life balance whilst still working towards my Level 4 Health Care Science apprenticeship.
